The Garden Was Already Growing

The garden was already growing before I even realized it.

For a long time, I thought starting something new meant I needed a perfectly mapped-out plan.

Turns out, I had pieces of this garden scattered all over my life long before I ever gave it a name.

They were in conversations with women who needed someone to listen.

They were in seasons when life didn’t look anything like I thought it would.

They were in faith, questions, laughter, exhaustion, heartbreak, healing, and those moments when you look around and realize you’re somehow still standing.

They were even in my actual garden—the one with beautiful blooms, brown leaves, weeds I didn’t get around to pulling, and flowers that somehow decided to grow outside the box anyway.

Maybe that’s why Wildflower After Winter feels less like something I created and more like something I finally noticed.

Because life has seasons.

Some are beautiful.

Some are messy.

And some feel like winter lasts far too long.

There are seasons when you’re growing so quickly you can almost see it happening. And there are seasons when you’re doing everything you can just to get through the day.

Sometimes growth looks like blooming.

Sometimes it looks like roots growing quietly where nobody can see them.

Sometimes it looks like sitting on the bench for a while because you’re simply too tired to keep walking.

There is room for all of that here.

Wildflower After Winter is a place for women to find encouragement, share their stories, explore their faith, laugh at the ridiculous parts of life, and remember that a new season can still hold something beautiful.

You don’t have to arrive polished.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

And you definitely don’t have to pretend everything is fine when it isn’t.

Around here, there is room for every messy bloom.

Faith will be part of this garden because it is part of my story. But nobody is getting chased around with a watering can. You can come with strong faith, complicated faith, questions, doubts—or simply a little hope that something good might still be ahead.

The gate is open.

And when I say all are welcome, I mean all.

There are no perfect flowers here. No spiritual VIP section. No requirement that everybody think, believe, look, or live exactly the same way.

We can disagree and still sit on the same bench.

We can have different stories and still recognize the humanity in each other.

We can make room.

Because this isn’t my private garden.

It’s a community garden.

Maybe you’re blooming right now.

Maybe you’re rebuilding.

Maybe you’re still standing in winter wondering whether spring is ever coming.

Or maybe you don’t even know what season you’re in.

That’s okay.

Come as you are.

Pull up a bench.

Stay awhile.

And maybe, somewhere along the way, we’ll discover together that winter wasn’t the end of the story.

Maybe you haven’t missed your chance to bloom. Maybe it just hasn’t been your season yet.

Welcome to the garden. 💜
